The Massasauga rattlesnake (Sistrurus catenatus) Status: Threatened - Ontario's only venomous snake is very timid and shy and avoids conflict with humans whenever possible. Their bites are very rare & no one has died in almost 50 years. They can be found in a variety of habitats in Bruce County, Ontario.
